NFL Labor Deals

After disappointing decisions by the NFL (National Football League) and the NFLPU (National Football League's Players Union) there will be no NFL season this year. I don't see how any of the NFL players would be angry about getting so little money. I mean, they usually get paid about 30 million dollars over 5 years! But, being a football player demands so many tension and injuries on your body. One sack and you might feel pain for the rest of your life. This was expressed by Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson who said " It's modern-day slavery, you know? People kind of laugh at that, but their are people working at regular jobs who get treated the same way, too. With all the money... the owners are trying to get a different percentage, and bring in more money. I understand that; these are business minded people. Of course, this is what they are going to want to do. I understand that; it's how they got to where they are now. But as players, we have to stand our ground and say, 'Hey -- without us, there's no football". I think what Adrian Peterson said is true. Without them, there really is no football.

But, there's always another side to every story. Think of the millions of people that have jobs and work hard. They're living without getting 30 million dollars over 5 years. It is true that football players do deserve a little more money than the average guy because they might be injured and have aches for the rest of their life, but football players are not paid entertainers. It's being selfish to the people that like playing football for the sport.
